Investment of Time and Skills

As a Programmer, you are probably used to working on various projects. Working through Venture Programmers will be very similar. Work is assigned, but instead of money, a Programmer will receive shares in the company s/he is working for on successful completion of the work.

For example, assume a Programmer is working on two projects, Project A and Project B. Each project will have a Project Manager to assign the work and ensure the work is done to an acceptable standard. Assuming this is done, a Programmer will receive shares in Company A and Company B. This means that as a future owner of the company you are working for, it is in your own interest to ensure the work you do will maximise the value of the company and therefore the value of your share in it! if you do a poor job, your shares will be worth less as a result. We believe this will mean you will see that it is in each Programmer's self-interest to ensure the project  runs smoothly and has the best possible outcome.

If we follow the above example, on successful completion of the projects, the Programmer will receive shares in Company A and Company B. The exact number of shares will depend on the amount of work to be done, the nature and value of the company as well as the perceived risk to the Programmer as determined through a project agreement and business plan drawn up at the start of the exercise between Venture Programmers and the Venturist.
